The CT Winter Wine Trail
While most wineries close their doors during the snowy winter season, a special few remain open to share their vino creations with seasonal visitors. The CT Winter Wine Trail is comprised of a select few wineries from the original wine trail, all of which you’ll find just minutes from The Wallingford Victorian Inn!
These wineries will be teaming up to bring visitors like you a Mini-Passport Program that you can stamp and use to earn cool prizes! Here is a quick look at each winery and why you’ll want to make the time to stop by them all.
The CT Winter Wine Trail Wineries
- Gouveia Vineyards: Located right here in Wallingford, Gouveia Vineyards is a charming and rustic Stone House winery that offers jaw-dropping panoramic views to admire while you sip on a glass of your favorite wine. During a tasting, you’ll receive four pre-selected signature wines along with one wine of your choice. Every selection at Gouveia comes from hand pruned vines that are treated with utmost care.
- Paradise Hills Vineyard and Winery: If the idea of drinking wine in Tuscany fills your heart with longing, then a visit to Paradise Hills Vineyard and Winery is in order! This Wallingford winery can be found on 65-acres of peaceful green hills and a year-round Tuscan-style tasting room. You’ll feel as if you’ve been transported right into the heart of Italy’s wine country as you unwind with a glass of high-quality wine made from hand-picked grapes grown on the estate.
- Bishop’s Orchards Winery: Since 1871, the Bishop family has served the state of Connecticut with fine Connecticut wines. Over 11 different styles of wine are offered here, including their very popular hard apple cider. They also use other fruits such as raspberries, peaches, pears, and strawberries to craft their wines, all of which are grown right on the farm. Their unique and distinctive take on wine is a real treat for your palette!
Be sure to visit these wineries by the close date if you’d like to enter your CT Wine Trail Passport for a chance to win prizes! While the official close date for 2019 has yet to be announced, you should expect a day in early April.
